WEBINAR – New Jersey Cemeteries Panel Discussion

October 13 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Cemeteries play many roles in our society and are especially important for genealogists. Not only do they preserve the physical remains of those that have died, they provide a place where memories are kept alive. For genealogists, they can provide information about dates of birth and death, associated family members, geographic location, and religious affiliation. In honor of National Family History Month, the New Jersey State Library is proud to present our first ever NJ Cemeteries Panel Discussion to highlight the critical roles cemeteries throughout the state play, especially as it relates to genealogical research. Bring your questions and notebooks as representatives from a diverse selection of cemeteries provide insight into their missions and residents!

Panelists:

Todd Boyer, Superintendent and Trustee, Green Cemetery

Mort Cohen, Vice President, Greater Trenton Jewish Cemetery Project

Linda Gilmore, Business Administrator, Nassau Presbyterian Church and Princeton Cemetery

Dolly Marshall, Historical Preservation Activist and Research Archivist, Mount Peace Cemetery

Angela Witcher, Pennington African Cemetery
